Here we go again–more renovations

So the cost of a home in Switzerland is insane.  To rent a two to three bedroom apartment alone costs about $4,000 a month.  Which is why, when we moved back, we bought a fixer-upper.  Also, for some crazy reason, we actually enjoy home improvement.  Although with each home we improve we like it a little less.

So far, we have put in all new floors upstairs, completely redone the attic, added a master bathroom and walk-in closet, and put in a new kitchen.  One of these days I’ll share the before and after photos of those projects.

Our current projects are finishing a room in the basement and putting in new laminate floor in the basement and the ground floor.  We have a bit of a crunch with time since we are leaving for vacation on Saturday (and I can’t wait to escape the chaos that is currently our home).  Eventually, I hope to have some beautiful before and after photos of this work.  But in the meantime, here are a couple during photos.

Gracie-the-dog dealing with the Chaos.

Newly plastered new wall in the basement (where the flat-screen will go) between built-in cupboards and a glimpse of the new floors and newly-painted green walls.
